I am Gillian Welsh, and life has taken me on a very squiggly journey but I feel very content and happy with where I am now.

 

I was lucky enough to grow up in one of the most beautiful places in the world but when I finished school, I left Aviemore to build a career in hospitality around the Edinburgh area. I met my husband there and started a family but decided in 2007 it was time to come home to the Highlands.

  

In 2012, while still working in hotels I started making jewellery as a bit of a hobby.  After experimenting with various styles and medias I found a way to merge my 2 favourites...leather and beads. I love to have things that co-ordinate with what I'm wearing, colours to match outfits and accessories that complement each other.

I discovered quite quickly that others loved my Multi-Strap Bracelets as much as I did so I began building my own little business and called it Katkin!

 

 I am passionate about what I do and love every item I make...all my Multi Strap Bracelets are different and unique…some may be similar, but they are all individual. Although Katkin has been all about the bracelets, I really enjoy spending time with beautiful beads and making necklaces, earrings and even rings that all look fabulous together.  

 

I think it’s fair to say that I am among the luckiest people in the world because I now spend my days doing what I absolutely love!
